Natalie H manages our TGS Learning ILC Project. She has a
Bachelor of Nursing and has worked in Paediatrics and Community Nursing across
Adelaide for close to 15 years. Natalie has two daughters who have NDIS plans.
She also supports her father through his NDIS journey after having a Stroke.
Natalie loves working with an amazing ILC team all with lived experience in
disability to produce some awesome resources for the disability community. Stay
B's work with The Growing Space
includes co-designing and building NDIS-related workshops and e-learning
resources through our ILC Learning project, and a newly created role to work to
keep our clients safe from abuse, neglect and poor provider practises. She is a
person with disability and is close to finishing a PhD at the University of
South Australia on understanding how people living with disability experience
inclusive policies within education. She is active in a range of advocacy
activities in her community, and is passionate about people with disability
living better lives through access and inclusion.
Jocelyn N is a not very old person who lives with a
significant physical disability. She loves her role within TGS Learning team,
using her knowledge and supporting others to thrive in life and navigate the
NDIS with confidence. An adventure seeker, jumping out of a plane, white-water
rafting or swimming with sharks she is also passionate about advocating for
equal opportunities, true inclusion and choice, especially education and sport.
Jocelyn has been heavily involved in advocacy on a state and national level,
has a background in medical science and is currently chasing down a law degree
to further her work.
Joanne C is working as Support Coordinator and is a member of our
Learning team. She has a background in psychology and training, and offers The
Growing Space and those we serve a unique perspective (and reminders to caption
things!) as a blind woman. Her youth and energy (and exceptional tech skills)
are very welcome on our team, as are her fluent spoken Chinese, Indonesian and
Malay language and related cultural supports.
W is an integral part of our TGS
Learning team, has a background in local and state government communications
and engagement, and loves finding ways to share knowledge and information. Her
true skills lie in her DIY work, recently fixing both a broken wheelchair
handle and a kitchen tap with zip ties.
P is working as a marketing
assistant to The Growing Space - interviewing, producing and editing videos
about the NDIS for our Learning team. Ben has a passion for inclusion, and for
getting great outcomes for people with disability. Ben has an intellectual
disability and is actively involved in self managing his NDIS plan. He is a
member of Julia Farr Youth, an Every Australian Counts National Champion,
National School Inclusion Project Mentor, Access2Arts HeartBeat Club committee
member, Microenterprise Ambassador, and frequently presents at conferences
about disability and the NDIS, Ben has represented Australia in Athletics at
the INAS Global Games and has a deep passion for music.
Brendan K is our filming and editing extraordinaire with patience a plenty working with The Growing Space Learning team to produce all the e-learning videos is a local filmmaker, he attended Flinders University and graduated with Honours. After beginning as a support worker he began producing video content for the Growing Space earlier this year. Outside of his work at the Growing Space, Brendan works as an editor, producer, and 1st assistant director. Brendan is very proud of the work he has done with the Growing Space, and he hopes you get a lot out of these webinars.
Jon P has joined us to manage our ever growing IT needs and offer senior management support to the team. Jon is an MCSE and keeps our security and privacy tight, keeps Sam in check and is an invaluable member of The Growing Space team. Jon has been a carer for a family member with psychosocial disability for more than 20 years. Jon always wears a hat, and that helps people with prosopagnosia to know who he is.
P is a Member of the NDIA Independent Advisory Council, and their
Self-Management reference group, the SA Safeguarding Taskforce,
the Inclusive School Communities Project
steering group and also is an active consumer health advocate and leads two
NDIS ILC Projects - one which aims to better support self managing
participants, the other which engages disabled people and family members to
co-design and deliver useful workshops. Sam holds many advisory roles in
government and organisations across Australia, and has a particular interest in
public speaking and plainly spoken, clearly answered training and
communications about the NDIS and disability related topics. She is a board
member of the CountMeIn Foundation,
which aims to increase awareness and takeup of Universal Design principles
in public, commercial and residential spaces, and of Disability Intermediaries Australia, the peak
body for Support Coordinators and Plan Managers in Australia. She is also board
